Pete - do you curently live in Idaho?  If not, you are in for a BIG shock.  It would have been my cheapest option since I am a resident, but for me quality of life far outranks how good the school might be.  Good luck in the arctic circle of hell aka Idaho!

i don't live in idaho, but it is my cheapest option ($$) and i have a thing for cold weather and outdoor sports. beyond that, the fewer the distractions, the better for me academically speaking. and i could totally see myself living in boise for a few years afterwards...

let me put it this way, it was between idaho and willamette (with no money). i think i would love oregon but i wasn't comfortable with the academic environment and high attrition rate at willamette.
