Private Catholic until second grade; public until my senior year (and on into undergraduate studies). I marked as 'public,' though, since I do my best to downplay the fact that I ever went to a religious school.

Public in a very blue collar town.  My graduating class had only one person that attended a decent school, and that was the salutatorian , who went to ND.  Everyone else went to state school or had babies.

I could have written almost exactly the same thing, only our salutatorian went to a state school.  Most went to work on farms; the lucky ones went to community college.
To put it bluntly, I seem to have a whole superstructure with no foundation. But I`m working on the foundation.
