Cardozo Law dinged by US news?

US news incorrectly listed Cardozo's old bar pass rate as 88 % this year, when in fact it was 93. Intentional or Negligent misrepresentation? It's one thing to mess up student/faculty ratio, but bar pass rate???

Do you think the correct listing wouldv'e boosted the school?

US News lists the first time pass rate for the whole previous year (July and February tests).  Cardozo's 93% pass rate was only for the July test.  When they add their 1st time takes from February, the pass rate is significantly  lower.

The bar passage rate that went into the 2009 rankings: "The ratio of the school's bar passage rate of the 2006 graduating class to that jurisdiction's overall state bar passage rate for first-time test takers in summer 2006 and winter 2007" Next year, when the 2007 class is used, they should do better (although it's unlikely to affect ranking).

Either way, a place or two in the rankings means nothing. A long term trend of large scale movement could mean something. Historically, VERY few schools have significantly changed their employment prospects very much since the USNEWS started ranking. Even big rises in the USNEWS often don't correspond to better employment prospects.

Agreed.  Rutgers-Newark, for example, has gone down quite a bit in the last decade or so, and their NLJ employment stats are still pretty damned good.
