If it was a huge amount of money, I wouldn't be asking anything about the FAFSA

i am sure that there is some place on the fafsa to indicate "other funds" that are contributing to your education, and if you aren't going to be drawing from those funds, then you might want to check with the FAFSA help desk to see what they say to put down. maybe you can call them anonymously to ask if you want.

I second that... I look at the debt already incured from undegrad/grad school and wish someone had set up even a $1 trust fund when I was born.
