Clearing work computer of porn
« on: July 28, 2005, 12:48:03 PM »
Friday is my last day at work and I was wondering how to clear the hard drive of any files I may have inadvertantly picked up during unauthorized internet surfing.  How do you clear a cache?  What else am I forgetting?

It is a Microsoft run computer.

Seriously though, I could get into a lot of trouble.  How do you erase the cache?

What the heck is your company going to do to you after you leave? Fire you?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's probably a good idea not to leave tracks, but I really don't think the bosses are going to hunt you down and chew you out.
When you have somebody dying because they are poor and black or poor and white or because of whatever they are ... that erases everything that's great about this country.

Don't forget to defrag your hard drive.  That way those "deleted" files are less likely to be resurrected.

If you are really paranoid, then get Window Washer.  It's good to have that for your personal computer, any way.  My computer runs better once I clear out the junk, and it helps prevent hackers from finding things out about you.

Lane, I was going to say what you said, but I thought I would be accused of being judgmental cuz I'm a chick.

It's OK to be judgmental. Go ahead.
