Who's moved already to their new city for LS?
« on: July 25, 2005, 01:02:48 PM »
I'm over here in San Francisco, jus chillin. But i'm not staying here, just visiting. I'll be in Santa Clara. I got a room to live in in a cool house, with cool roomies (and a dog that i hope knows how to catch a frisbee). I have yet to see my schools campus, even though i have passed right in front of it no less than three times on the bus, and actually got off the train directly across the streeet. Today, i will finally walk onto the campus for the first time. I'm getting the tingly feeling alll along my arms. woooo... Any who, who else has finally made it to their school city. I know that ScurvyWench is in Houston (where my plane stopped off for an hour on the way to San Jose), so what about the rest of y'all....

Nice to see I'm remembered.  :) Say hello to Santa Clara for me. Looks like I won't even be back there to visit the fam until after LS.

You're going to love the campus. It's beautiful there. Also be sure the check out the on campus museum, the Rosecution (sp?) Museum, the Triton Museum, the Museum of Modern Art and the Flower Garden while you're at it. I believe they're all off that same busline that runs down El Camino (which by the way, you can connect and head out to Half Moon Bay on that line). Welcome to Silicon Valley!

Please PM me and tell me how you like it.

Scurvy, i'll PM you when I actually see the school. I went down today to pay the deposit and first months rent on my room, but i ran out of time and did not get to see the campus. That seems to be the trend. I take the CALTRAIN and hour and a half down to Santa Clara, do my business, and then run out of time before i get to see the school. Anyway, i think i'll wait until thursday to go back down there. How are you liking Huston? From what i saw from the plane, it's a beautiful town. ;)

Good luck to you naj, i hear Diego is a nice place.

By the way, i just want to let everyone know that i am living in the dirtiest part of San Francisco, south of tenderloin (i think) by the civic center. Oh my f-ing god! I rode the bus three times today and i had to use my hand sanitizer like 15 times. Of the 55 people on the bus, i swear that at least 12 of them had not showered in a week. How could this have happened to me? Anyway...

I am moving to Queens on August 7...I am from Upstate NY (near Buffalo).  Although I will still be a New Yorker, it is going to be a huge transition (public transportation, inflated prices)  I'm definitely nervous!

Queens is not bad.  I lived there for 10+ years.  :)

As for me, I'm moving up to Syracuse from North Jersey on Saturday!

I moved close to Philly at the beginning of may, just so I'd be completely settled in (well, that and that gaurantee of being in the complex I liked best). I wanted to be totally comfortable before the stress set in.
