A 1-point difference won't matter most of the time. But in certain instances, it can be the difference between an acceptance and a denial.

Sure a 169 can get you into HYS. I don't think most ppl will disagree. But ask youself this. Why is it that every third test taker is trying to break 170? It's because 170 is a psychological target. I agree 169 is just as good as 170. Most ppl know this. Even LSAC reports a range of 167-173 if you score 170. Yet, it still feels a lot different when you score 170 vs 169 as compared to 168 vs 169.

For what its worth, I'll gladly take a 169 in October, even if it isn't a nice round number. ;)
