Oct 2- Anyone Want to Trade Preptests?
« on: June 13, 2004, 08:18:35 PM »
Hey,

I'm writing the LSAT in October, and I would like to trade preptests with people, preferably in electronic format.

Specifically, I do not have Preptests #36 (Dec 2001), #37 (June 2002), and #39 (Dec 2002).  I am also looking for older practice tests (ie: anything that was not included in the "10 Actual, Official Preptests" publication).  Finally, I would love to get a look at #43 (June 2004), so if anyone gets a hold of that one, please let me know.

Yes, smartass, I KNOW that the June 2004 test hasn't been written yet!  I mean to say that I would like to see it before Oct. 2nd, and it will be released in July!!

Anyhow, drop me a line if you have something that I need, and would like to trade me for tests that you need: silver2soma@hotmail.com.  And, I am not interested in buying tests, so please don't ask!

Good Luck to everyone on Monday!!

Well, I bought the electronic files that I have from a nice girl in Toronto, and I believe that she got them from the internet somewhere.  I suppose that one could just make their own PDF files of the tests they bought from the store, and sell them to others...

Obviously they violate copyright laws... but come on, guys!  I had to spend $144 CDN to purchase "10 Actual" and "10 More Actual", so I don't feel badly about acquiring the rest through "other means".

To answer your other question, I always just print off the PDF's I have, and work with the hard copies (why would you do it any other way?)

So Hazz, are you writing in October?  Would you like to trade tests?

Yeah, I'd like to start a pool if anyone else is up for it.

i can host them off my webserver.

i have test 40 fresh and clean, i'll scan the files and upload them, unless there's a cleaner way of doing it.

That sounds like a great idea, Utausin!  I have several of the recent tests in PDF format, though some are in better shape than others...

Anyone have tests that they can contribute?

I am also hoping that someone will donate their disclosure booklet from the June 2004 test for us to look at (wink wink, nudge nudge)

Dude, what are you talking about?  10 Actual and 10 More are only ~$25 Cdn on amazon.ca.  Where did the $144 come from?  Even if you buy from LSAC it's only $30USD, which is only ~$40CDN.

??!!
When in doubt on the LSAT, always choose F as the answer.

yeah, but...

Purchasing them from any bookstore cost me $72 CDN a pop... so if one didn't have the 6-9 weeks to wait for them to be shipped from Amazon.ca, one was forced to buy them from a bookstore.

To anticipate your next comment, I do not live in a small town.  I live in Calgary, a city with a million people living in it, and the University bookstore (along with any other store I checked) sold them for $72 CDN (after tax, mind you).  Someone else from this site tells me that they also had to pay the same prices in Ontario (Toronto, I think), and so that's the story behind overpricing at bookstores- hidden costs exist, apparently.

Nonetheless, hindsight is 20/20, and now that I have decided to delay my test until October, I have wisely decided to purchase the Powerscore Logic Games Bible from Amazon, which is costing me only $46CDN, a savings of over $20.  Lucky me!  It should arrive sometime between July 13th and August 9th, I hope...

Also, you are forgetting that purchasing preptests through LSAC costs $30USD plus $10USD S&H to Canada, which is $40USD or $54CDN, a savings of $18 at the cost of waiting at least a month before the book arrives (sucks to be an aspiring lawyer in Canada, doesn't it?)

So yeah... do you have some PDF'd tests that you would like to contribute to the "pool", my dear Moogle?
