State Schools

(1/1)

SweetAlum:
I've heard that it is more difficult to get into a state school if you are not a resident of that state.  How much more difficult? Three of the schools I am strongly considering are state schools where I am not a resident.  I don't want to waste my time (and money) on schools that I won't get into because I'm not a resident.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
(I have a 162 LSAT and a 3.59 GPA. )

Ivy_Hopeful:
Do not worry about residency before you look at your UGPA & LSAT scores compared to that of the previous matriculants' numbers at the 3 state schools in which you wanted to apply. I can assure you that although residency is an issue it is an easily overlooked one when your other obvious credentials are warranted (i.e. GPA and LSAT) Based on your GPA and LSAT I would not worry about your chances and just take a chance, but to investigate your question further I would need to know the shools you are referrig to and compare them to those schools. But ultimately I say go for it  ;D :) You'll be fine.
