My school says $1100 for books for the whole year.  I could easily see it being that per semester....

Required readings or all materials

I think $500-$700/semester and probably another $300 in supplements

How many classes are you planning on taking?  6 or 7?

Maybe 500-700 per semester total.

That was what was budgeted by my school, and I plan on buying new books.

Well my 1L schedule is set up so that I have 3 five hour classes and legal writing.  Each casebook is about $100 new (I have the prices from the bookstore) and the legal writing book is around $70.  That's $370 plus 3 or 4 supplements at about $30 each.  That comes out to $450-500 for me.

With tax, I think that's within what I quoted.

I plan on buying a lot of supplements untill I figure out what works best for me.

I think this is a good plan.  I will be doing it too.

It sucks because I don't think you can buy used text books for law school...someone elses notes and highlighting would drive me insane.

150$ in undergrad, or even more amazing 1000$, one is way low and one way high, I spent about 350 on 15 credit semesters in ug and maybe 450 when I took 18 or 19 credits.

I think it depends on major.  Spending $300 for a bio class is normal, and $50 for a POSC class is normal.

Some semesters I spent $400+, other semesters I would spend around $150

WTF?  Seriously?  What school?

Top20.  However, I usually got about $500/session back by selling the books.
