COBRA is ridiculously expensive.  My company has a pretty bad health plan, and it would cost me $200 a month to continue using it through COBRA!  The plan that Northwestern offers isn't much cheaper.  The only reasonable option I've found so far is Blue Cross/Blue Shield, which offers dozens of plans from $50-$100 /month.  Of course these benefits are much more limited than what I'm used to, even with the bad health insurance I have through work now.

Wow, that's really cheap for cobra. My company's cobra is over $400/month. Yikes! Sure, it's a pretty good plan - but not that good! I'll probably end up going with blue cross unless I can get my BF to marry me by the end of July. Then I can be on his plan at work for $100/month.

Emory's insurance is about $1400 a year, which is only about $120 a month.
