Scary moments in your life... 2 truths and a lie.

Thought I'd throw out a new topic - scary things that have happened to you, or haven't (as the case may be).  Here's mine:

1. Car accident
2. Being in a store while it was being robbed.
3. Fleeing the country after family member escaped from terrorists.

1.  Hotel room burglarized in Las Vegas while I slept.
2.  Fingertip severed by a falling podium when I was ten (in church, no less!  It's a wonder I still go to Mass).
3.  Waking up and not remembering knowing where you are and how you got there.

Las Vegas burglary?

Yep.  That one was real.  Fortunately they only took my wallet and ran; I slept through the whole thing.  My sisters and I had forgotten to secure the deadbolt the night before because we got in so late and were very tired (boy, we'll never make that mistake again!).  The third one I listed hasn't happened to me yet, but it is something that, I would think, would be incredibly frightening.

1.  Bungie-jumping off the Stratosphere Hotel in Vegas.

2.  Having my jack*ss flight instructor take control of the airplane, fully loaded with passengers and fuel, rolling it over, and pulling it out at 500 feet over the water with the airspeed redlined.

3.  Getting my d*ck caught in a fan.

Nope -- that was real. No long-term unfortunate effects though. And it didn't really hurt, but the noise was rather unpleasant.


EDIT:  For anyone curious as to how such a thing might occur, here is a repost of a previous post 'splaining the situation:

Believe it or not, one time I actually got my d*ck caught in a fan.  But it didn't happen the way you think (sick bastards).

While serving with my reserve unit one weekend, I was lucky enough to get my own room in the barracks. But this barracks had no air conditioning, just an old fan with the front part of the cage missing.  I had it sitting on a little table positioned closely to my rack and left it running all night.  In the morning, I returned from the shower room and being in a bit of a hurry, I went to squeeze between my rack and the table with the fan on it.  Good intentions; bad execution.

Fortunately I was on the blowing rather than the sucking side of the fan, so there was no damage done (other than emotional trauma). But that was the most horrible sound I've ever heard.
