Yeah, I suppose that is true.  It is intersting that while the "South" can be easily defined, what constitutes the "North" is a bit more subjective.  I suppose I consider the North everything from the Upper Midwest eastward and everything north of the Mason-Dixon line.  Then there are the Plains States, the Mountain West, the Southwest, and the West Coast.

Are these parameters all right with you?

mason-dixon is definitely not a good indicator... Maryland is south of the mason-dixon and has always been aligned with the north
