Am I aiming too high?

I graduated from Columbia in May '01 and I have just decided to apply to law school for this coming year, which doesn't give me a whole heck of a lot of time.
I graduated magna cum laude, with a 3.8, double major in English and Psychology. Unfortunately I don't really have many extracurriculars--most of my extra time was spent teaching (half paid, half volunteer) at academic enrichment centers, basically teaching kids SAT I Verbal and essay writing, etc.
I will take the LSAT in December, and I'm studying from PrepTests right now. I took a sample test a couple weeks ago and got a 166, so hopefully with two months of hard core studying that will go up.
I'm planning to apply to Columbia, Harvard, NYU and Fordham....my question is, am I aiming too high? My parents are going to pay for all of this and they don't want to pay unless its a "higher institution"--that and I must admit that I do have somewhat of an ego....argh, i dunno--if someone who knows can tell me honestly what my chances are, and if they know any good safeties in the area (tristate area) let me know....thanks!

what was your undergrad GPA and major? Since you're coming from a top undergrad institution, that's a plus. For your lsat, you should be aiming for low 170's for those schools (with the exception of fordham).
