Where do you take your tests?
« on: June 07, 2004, 07:09:43 PM »
Im just wondering if people here feel it is important to take tests in a foreign environment like a library...coffeeshop etc.

I have been taking all of them in my livingroom which is actually pretty noisy because I live on an avenue in NYC...I was thinking of taking the rest of mine in a library or a starbucks.

thoughts?

I think it's a good idea to get out of your comfort zone.  I've taken mine in two different libraries, two different houses, and once at the actual test site.  For whatever reason, I tend to do much better when I'm not home at my desk.

Starbucks would be a real challenge.  Your concentration would certainly be tested with all the conversations and grinding going on there.  Not a bad idea.

At the library, on the third floor.

I certainly will be for my last couple tests.  I live right next to campus, and the testing center is in the Union of my school (U of illinois at chicago).  Think I'll check it out tomorrow actually.

I've taken my practices and a wide range of places. 2 libraries, computer room at home, living room at my apartment, and bro's room.

it's a good idea to take practice tests somewhere with distractions.  when you take the actual test, there will be little things that will get on your nerves if you're used to studying someplace as quiet as a library.  air-conditioning, someone with the sniffles or a cough, someone who erases alot next to you, it sounds kind of silly but when you're trying to finish the actual test under timed conditions, these things get to some people.
