And the surrounding neighborhood is so peaceful. You can walk down MLK at 3am, leave your bike unlocked... ;)

whatever. i live in nyc (which is safe to me!) and USC is a great school.  The campus is pretty and it offers the best opportunities for what I want to do. so. makes sense to me.  smog and all. :) i am praying that i can  be surrounded in the smog and danger that is usc.

It is nothing compared to what some of you kids make it out to be. It's hardly south central either since it is so close to downtown. There is nothing to worry about around there, but bikes and cars should definitely be left well secured with nothing valuable in them, as is true in the center of most major metropolises in the world.

Remember, I went to UCLA UG, It's a requirement to talk down U$C at any and every opportunity. ;) It's not the worst area of LA.

Though someone was shot and killed in front of a friend's house about 6 blocks from the campus. Though it was during the summer.

If you are already settled in Chicago (w/NW), don't bother with U$C.

Withdraw from NW and go to USC (no bias here even though I am on the waitlist for NW  ;).) But seriously, I wouldnt really bother with USC. You're already settled in Chicago, not to mention you're going to a T-14 school. Cant ask for much more. Good luck.

OMFG! I so HATEEE U$C!

So anyway, I get home and I see this half-sheet sized envelope on my desk.  I go to it, and I am like, OMFG it's USC and it's not the small flimsy "you're not good enough for this school" envelope.  I sat down, and I told myself, 'don't get excited, it's nothing."

However, even telling myself that, I could not get the excitement out of my mind.  I start to tremble just a little bit.  I open up the evelope, and I am like bursting with excitement,  then I read it.  Then I sigh.  Then it's of course, asking if I want to stay on the waitlist.

Okay, I want to go waitlist crazy propaganda mass package fedex mail USC with all the goodies that I have done since I first sent in my application.  What is the best way to get off this waitlist (as I am sure you are all contemplating also.)  Any hints?  Should I drive down to USC, introduce myself to the dean, and drop off my package?

Okay, any help would be great.  Goodluck everyone on getting in!

Snuvy - I felt exactly the same way when I saw that letter! I was like, it has stuff in it, it can't be a rejection! LOL.
