Bad News for UCLA waitlisters

Bad News for UCLA waitlisters

"sooo...i get a call today from the dean of admissions and hes like, we want to offer you an incentive deal because we are "over-confirmed"...he pretty much offered me $10k to defer one year...he said they had receieved more confirmations then they had anticipated. has anyone else received anything similar? it was a bit weird if i do say so myself."

Thats a quote from the 'UCLA Bound' thread in Accepted and Decided students. It doesn't look like they will be going much to their waitlists, if at all. But there is amoney deadline June 1, so maybe the over confirmed will drop down to under confirmed when the money is due.

Damn it all.

yup, sucks doesn't it? I'll still hold out hope, you never know with these things, but it's definitely not a good sign,

where did you hear that money is due June 1?  I submitted my SIR and as far as I know, the next step is the Confirmation of Intent to Register, due June 16.

I  don't remember, I think from someone. I am probably wrong then. When did/do you submit $$ to UCLA for the deposit?

I don't think you have to give any $$ until tuition is due in August.
