Too many applicants says Hofstra!!!!
« on: May 16, 2005, 07:45:12 PM »
Got the letter today. "We received a large number of applications from individuals with a variety of skills and qualifications. Unfortunately, we cannot accept all applicants and we must therefore, disappoint many persons of accomplishment and promise"

Whatever!!!! Oh Well.  Not sure if I am going to wait on Touro.  With this track record looks like NYLS is the only school I will get into.  I should of applied earlier.  My fault, but one thing I am never going through this process again.  To damn painful and stressful.

Hmm...I wonder why they receieved that many applications. I am from New York and don't live too far from Hofstra - it is definitely not rural but it is NO NYC.  What made everyone apply here?  I know it has a good program however it is the location?  Or the free application if you submitted it electronically? I mean Syracuse and Hofstra are ranked the same but I haven't heard anything of the same caliber as what Hofstra is saying?

i think that it has to do with the fact that the other schools in the ny area that ppl are pending at have not been sending decisions and so ppl put down seat deposits at hofstra so theyre assured somewhere but as soon as they get accepted at one of the other schools theyre waiting for they will withdraw.

That's it for me.  I'm waitlisted at Fordham.  If I get in, I'm going there, but the more I've learned about Hofstra, the more comfortable I've become with going there.  I think I could graduate in 3 years and do just fine with a Hofstra degree.

Thanks!! I have finally calmed down and realized that it actually won't matter where I go.  I only applied to schools I would actually consider attending and I got into one, so I should not get so upset.  I am going into private practice anyway so, NYLS it is!!

Good Luck to everyone.
