Anyone visited or live near Appalachian School of Law?  What is the town like?  Anything fun to do in Grundy?

I had a friend go there a couple of years ago and he said it was a ghost town.  I think he joked that a large percentage of the population was the law school.  Anyways, he said the "town" was desolate.  Just what I heard from him.

My brother goes there. Not much to do in the town, but they actually have some decent parties. If you want to go out though, most people go to Johnson City which is 2.5 hours away. Very good skiing in the area.

I don't know what part of California you are coming from, but this may be a major culture shock. I'd definitely consider looking for a job and forgetting the whole law school thing if this is your only choice.
