oh, since i have two wifeys here i can ask you.  this has been bothering me.

did you take your husbands' names?

if so (and this is the part that's been bothering me) did you have to come up with a whole new signature and practice it and stuff?

I took both husbands' names.  It's funny... my first married last name was very pleasant sounding and went with my first name well, but it was slow and awkward for me to sign.    Hmmmmm.... then I married hubby, and wasn't thrilled with taking the last name, but signing it is like buttah!  It just rolls off my pen, and even if we divorce (never gonna happen!), I'll keep it forever.

I have a three syllable German last name. I will happly change it for my husband if it's better sounding than mine!

Always had a date to prom/formal/college party.

I always had several dates to prom/formal/college party. They were usually fine with sharing. That's the magic of the booty.

I went to so many proms in HS that my mom started to get mad because I "had" to buy so many dresses. A friend recently emailed me pictures from about 10 years ago. I was suprised I had friends back then--boy was I ugly!

It's wierd to make the switch from "other" to "significant other." How many feel awkward during the let's be exclusive talk... I used to hate it and felt it should be unspoken. And then a lovely woman changed my mind on the subject

No, I didn't take his name. I didn't like the way it sounded, I also think taking his name makes you feel like property/owned when it's really about two people coming together equally.

We were going to both change our names to a blended name, but we got lazy and just left it as we were. So, no, I didn't have to practice writing my "new" name.

Yep, and it's beautiful. I only took it after trying to get him to pawn it to buy the new R1 motorcylce. I'd rather have speed than jewelry any day. And by the way, he wore an engagement ring too.
