Does FAFSA send paperwork in the mail?
« on: May 06, 2005, 10:00:00 AM »
I filled out my FAFSA in January and everything is complete. However, I was expecting some kind of confirmation in the mail and have not received anything.  Do they send you a hard copy of the report?

I haven't done this since 2000, so I may be a little behind the times!!

Nope, they don't.  You might be able to request something from them.

Otherwise, you have to check with your school to see if they've received everything.  If you want a copy for your records, you could always just go back into the FAFSA system online and print a copy yourself.

They do not send anything by mail, unless you submitted the paper application.  If you submitted via Fafsa on the web, your sar report should be ready. That is the only report you get from them.  Open your online account and just print out your SAR (Student Aid Report) you will see your EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) and other numbers and your information.

They should have already started.  I got mine from Emory about a month ago.

If you haven't heard any word, you should start calling schools to see when, and to make sure they received your FAFSA and stuff (that is, if you haven't already)
