Late Deposits

Will schools accept deposits late?
I decided on a school and am now regretting.  Will another school let me send the deposit now (3-5 days late)?

call them first thing in the morning.  i'm sure you wouldn't be the first person to ever ask the question of the admissions office.

It'd be difficult, though. Especially since they're generally so willing to give you a few days extension almost at the drop of a hat.

It would depend on how much they want you.  And if you're asking them to reconsider you for scholarship money they may have offered, it's even more dicey.

Tell them that you were having trouble coming up with the money.

Many schools are flexible with their deadlines. I know of some schools that still sent me junk mail postmarked after the deposit deadline passed for weeks.  One school even unilaterally extended my deposit deadline. A week later, they had a 1L call me to tell me all sorts of things about why I should choose her school. So there is still hope for your situation.

You won't know unless you try. Go for it; call the admit office as early as you can in the morning and ask if you can send it in late. Play up the $$ factor if you wish.

depends on the school.  Some resort to the waitlist literally the day after the deadline.  Others send you a letter first.

Tell them it was marked with incorrect postage by the lady at the post office and it came back to you a two days later.  tell them you've already repackaged it in a fedex envelope and will overnite it tonight.

There will not be an issue.
