Lowest price laptop sale I've seen

CompUSA is selling the HP Compaq Presario M2010us for $499 -- sale ends 5/7.

What have been people's experiences with Compaq -- positive or negative?

I had the presario 2100 (I think?)...durable, quick, but heavy!

I have a compaq desktop, it sucks! Right now it's running on safe mode b/c it will not work on regular.

I also had problems here at the office with a compaq desktop.  Very "iffy".

I stopped buying compaqs as of 2 years ago.  We had ordered 6 (I work in IT).  4 died within 6 months and 2 have serious overheating problems.  Maybe the newer ones are better.

Honestly, I order and deploy at least 50 laptops per year.  I have yet to see any one brand not have any problems.  Best of the bunch to me are Thinkpads.  Whatever you get, back up your data!
