SMU
« on: April 29, 2005, 03:20:25 PM »
well there goes my number one remaining choice.  I guess I'll wait for Baylor to reject me and the weigh the possibility of taking a year off and trying again.  I have to say I am pretty disappointed in this whole process.

Sorry to hear, man.  My SMU ding letter is probably sitting in my mailbox as we speak.  I had a feeling that they were going to be incredibly selective after that USNWR rating dropped them to second tier.  Good luck with Baylor.  I got dinged from them on Monday.

Sorry about the ding, but like supernga said, the new USNews ranking is probably making SMU reconsider lower LSATS (your LSAT isn't that low, but for a school trying to get back up the rankings, every LSAT point counts I guess). I honestly don't know how I got in, but I won't question them on that ;). Keep in mind that the part-time program grew and they shrunk their full-time program to cope. All think all these things factored in making it really hard to get into SMU this year.

You still got Baylor (I too am waiting to hear from them for the Fall but I am realistic with my #s....lightnings not gonna strike twice). Miami is still a very good school but if you want to stay in Texas, send Houston a letter of intent or something. I will be pulling my name off their list if I don't hear anything from them by the end of May.
The Internet is for porn and Lexis points.

Pretty sure I got dinged from SMU since I have not received a call. The admissions folks said all decisions were mailed yesterday. Dont care so much b/c was going to Houston either way.

I'm guessing any letters sent out are dings...even so, only 33 accepted on LSN? Last year was much different...

Would you take that over Cardozo since you already signed your new yor lease?

Would I live in Dallas over New York?  Only over my dead body!  My mom made me apply there because my folks live a few blocks away.
