:-\ Callahan doesn't need to do this; they played well.

It simply shows how stupid some fans can be that he felt compelled to apologize.  Oklahoma is the best team Nebraska has played this year (better than USC, and I saw Texas in person and was less than impressed).  They deserved the title.
Me?  I'm just passing through...

co-champions.

That's total bs.  USC beat Cal and thus is the better team and shouldnt have to share the title with a lesser team.

by your logic:
Cal>WSU>OSU>ASU>Arizona>Oregon>Stanfurd>UW>UCLA>USC

HTH.

in a couple weeks it'll look like:
a&m>Cal>WSU>OSU>ASU>Arizona>Oregon>Stanfurd>UW>UCLA>USC

/just talkin' trash

USC lost to TWO unranked teams- and not even good ones. I don't see why they're as acclaimed as they are.

I actually like Schiano's thinking, not just because I'm Scarlet Knight fan, but Rutgers deserves a lot better than we got. Just wait until next year- I can't wait to see us back in the Top 10 to stay.

And I still think this whole Florida thing is just to give someone else "a chance" to beat OSU when it's clear that Michigan is the better team. It's the Bowl CHAMPIONSHIP, not the Bowl CHANCE series, meaning it's supposed to be for the best teams, not just to throw in next-best to spice it up. Hell, if we want to just give chances to whoeever, why not give it to Rutgers...

using your logic....ucla and oregon state beat usc, and thus are the better team and should be ranked higher than usc?

Using your logic, we dont even have to play the games, we can just look at the spread.

Even though USC and Cal had the same number of losses, USC had a better season than Cal because it beat Cal.  There should be no question about that.

If two teams have the same record and have played each other, then the winner of the matchup is the better team.  there should be no question about that, especially considering how tough USC's schedule was.

to say that Cal deserves a share of the Pac-10 title would be like saying that two fighters who have the same record and have fought recently are perfectly equal even though one fighter whooped the other's azz
