I did a little research on UBalt through the Martindale and NALP websites. I wrote several lawyers who went to the school (in Baltimore, NY and NJ) and also a couple of recruiters in the Baltimore area. I only contacted people who graduated or hired graduates within the past 5 years.

Most of the responses I received were positive, with the only negative being if you want to leave the area immediately following graduation, you should choose a different school. That being said, I received that same advance about all of the schools I researched.

However, the overall response was that the school places very well in the area and the students who graduated from there felt they were very prepared for practice due to all of the practical work they are given. In addition, a couple of recruiters told me UBalt is taking steps to increase student's preparation for the Bar Exam and thus increase their passage rate.

Anyone heard anything else about Baltimore's Priority waitlist?  I'm going crazy!

Did you call them and let them know that you are very interested and would definately attend if admitted?

i have a friend who goes to baltimore and, while she is happy with the program, mentioned that the facilities are not the best.  this affects the rankings.

This is true (I went to welcome students day a couple of months ago).   They have remodeled a few rooms and they do have wireless internet. Other than that no major frills.

I called the school at the end of April and they told me that they were not going to look at the waitlist until mid-May. I might try and call tomorrow, but I don't want to be annoying!

I am going to give them a call today, jsut so that they know i am definitely interested...i can't believe they told you mid may, thats ridiculous.

I just called the school. They won't be going to the waitlist until early June now. Anybody know when the next deposit is? I heard it's around that date, but not sure.

No second deposite was requested (not for me anyway).  Class schedules come out mid June, and tuition is due July 18th.  Orientation begins August 15th.  I think they are waiting for other schools WL movement.   After that some people may be pulling out.  I am still waiting to hear from my first choice Waiting list decision-University of Maryland (currently their class is full).
