Schools that offer need-based grants (finaid)?
« on: April 25, 2005, 10:15:48 AM »
Which schools offer need-based grants?  It seems that most schools don't, and only give funds for "merit-based scholarships" (i.e. index numbers).

I know Hofstra and Chicago-Kent offer limited funds based on FAFSA.  Any other schools that you guys know of?

not true, both Syracuse and Suffolk give out small need based grants.  I guess it all depends on their definition of need.

American offers need-based grants, based on Need Access.  I think it goes up to 14k.

my grant from columbia must be need based, though it doesn't explicitly say so, because my numbers are below their average...

boalt offers need-based grants that top out at something like 8500 for out of state students and 6000 for in-state. also, to help you in your decision between boalt and cls - boalt has a scholarship matching program that enables you to go to boalt for no more of an out of pocket expense than any school that's offered you scholarship, provided that it's what boalt considers a peer school. cls is on that list.
