Well at least we know we won't have to worry about that "Happy Charade" of a third year at Baylor...

Gavin, I know what you mean.  I took Baylor over higher ranking because I'm just too darn rational.  I just let money play such a big part in my decision.  Of course now I'm up s**t creek w/out a paddle if I lose my scholarship, but we're not going to discuss that.  That doesn't mean I haven't entertained thoughts of transfer.  I don't think I ever would, but I just wonder where I could get in mostly.
Oh, sweetheart, you don't need law school. Law school is for people who are boring and ugly and serious. And you, button, are none of those things.

Hi again, havent posted here in a while but I wanted to say good luck to all those starting Baylor Law this year. I chickened out of Baylor and op-ed for SMU instead. Well it wasn't just because Baylor is that much harder but talking to a number of Baylor Law Alumni I have to say I feel a lot better about my decision to attend SMU (even though I really missed Baylor and (gasp) yes, even Waco.) But remember that when classes get that much tougher and that when you get the crap kicked out of yall by one of your professors, rememeber this: you got the respect of most law students/lawyers. Even the folks I interviewed with at Vandy and Washington & Lee were complementing the work ethic of most Baylor lawyers. Congrats at getting in and even more congrats for going through with it....y'all will be one hell of a lawyer  ;D

First of all... you guys aren't going crazy or anything.  I e-mailed Becky about the discussion board thing when I first noticed that I couldn't log in, and she said that the tech people had been upgrading their servers.  So their discussion board's been temporarily disabled.

So, I figured I'd check on here, just to make sure the El Chico thing was still on.  Monday night, 7:00 pm, right?  Is there only one El Chico in Waco, or can we get something more specific on which one we're meeting at?  And, along those lines, about how we're all going to identify each other when we get there?  We could all wear those Baylor Law T-shirts, but that'd be kind of cheesy.  :)

I think on the discussion board they said it's the El Chico on the Circle.  I don't think there's another one anyway.  If anyone's new to Waco and doesn't know where the Circle is it's just west of 35 where Valley Mills and La Salle and some other streets come together in an old fashioned traffic circle.

Someone said something about reserving a table or room under Baylor Law Orientation so you may want to ask about that when you get there.

Well, back in June or July, some of the people on the Baylor-sponsored DB thought it would be a good idea to have a get-together for us 1Ls before orientation.  So, the plan is, all of us -- or, rather, all of us that saw the post, are already in Waco, and are interested -- we're going to get together, tonight, at 7:00 pm, at El Chico.  The one on the circle, apparently. :) Hope that clears things up a bit!

Now, on the Blackboard thing... well, as far as that goes, I'm completely in the dark.  Could someone who's up to speed on that help us out?

I believe that someone said that Blackboard wouldn't be active until classes begin.

Well, I'm finally here. Anyone else move this weekend? Man, it's amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years. I'm looking forward to a little break from unpacking tonight. So...are we all wearing our Baylor law shirts or not? I don't want to be the only dork.

I believe (and I very well could be wrong) that our loan fund arent availible until the 1st day of classes.  I am curious about how we access our excess funds.  Im sure this will be discussed at orientation though but who knows.

See y'all at El Chico's!
