Hawaii's Rejection Letter
« on: April 21, 2005, 01:22:36 AM »
It's very different than the other rejections.  I made a cup of coffee this morning (mail comes early) and stared at the thin envelope on the table.  Opened it, read the first two lines and put it down (instant stomach acid).  Went back to it at lunch and noticed something strange after reading it in full.  Anyone else get the same, last two lines as I did (you'd know it if you read them)?

If so, message me and tell me what you have.  Hawaii is my first choice.  Before I drop off any waitlists, spend another year running my business in Japan with a wife and (soon) three children waiting- I'd like to know that there is a snowball's chance in Hawaii for 2006!  :-\

Thanks in advance,

Geezer

You'd probably have more luck with this thread if you actually write what the letter said since there are probably very few LSDers who applied to Hawaii.  Is there really any need for secrecy?
I give up.  I just can't be bothered to update the lists anymore. =p

I believe I received the same letter today. I thought it was a nice friendly gesture. Nothing more.

My guess is it says, "Apply next year and we'll let you in!"  Yeah right, and the check's in the mail...  :P  Don't fall for it, geezer.

However, I have yet to receive the e-mail that I'm looking for!

Missliad,

Thanks for input- was that the exact wording of your letter?  Mine was different.  I'm off to bed (2:00 a.m. here, and scheduled to play tennis with someone who always kicks my *** at 8:30), but I'll give you my thoughts on what U. Hawaii really wants tomorrow...

Nighty Nite...

I think admissions people are generally pretty straight-forward with you, although I have never had my file reviewed by Hawaii. I think that if you're serious about Hawaii, you might want to put down the deposits for your #2 choice, call Hawaii in June and see what they have to say with you. If you're convinced you can get in next year, then you can turn down other offers.
