Accepted from William & Mary waitlist!!

I received the phone call today from William & Mary!!
The list is moving!

What did you do, if anything, after you found out that you were waitlisted?

I did nothing actually.  I was placed on four WLs so I figured it was a polite way of saying it's not you, it's me.  I didn't call, email, visit, anything.  However, I live in Newport News, which is about 20 minutes from W&M and I wait tables in Williamsburg.  Maybe being local had some pull?  Who knows.
Since the school is making calls though, it might be a good time to call them to express continued interest and say that you would immediately accept an offer.

shwagg, did they tell you that you were accepted immediately in the call, or did they tell you you were a strong candidate, encourage to visit, etc.  i received a call today also, but im not sure if its an acceptance or not.  either way, i am going to a student day tomorrow, hopefully that will ensure the acceptance

3.4/170, and i dont know if it was an acceptance or not, i suppose they want to see my interest level in the school before they make an acceptance

I was told I was a strong candidate, and then the lady asked if I had my plans set for next year (meaning, are you set on a school yet).  I said, well I'm waiting to hear from schools still, W&M being my first choice.  Then, I told her I would definately accept an offer from W&M, and she then made the offer and said my package would be in the mail.
P.S.  When are the student days??

I received a phone call as well, just returned Dean Shealy's message and now I anxiously wait.  W&M has been my first choice throughout this process and just last week I went down to Emory and really loved it and committed.  I honestly don't know what I'm going to say when she calls back - both schools have a ton to offer me but they are incredibly different and I don't know which is best for me.  Help!

I know that W&M has been your first choice all along. I'm so happy for you. I remember commiserating way back in December about our chances for admission. Have a great time in Williamsburg!
