increased deposit with scholarship?

So at first my deposit for cal western was 250 now that I got a scholarship it is 450!!! What the heck is that all about???

I would think it's designed to increase the likelihood that you actually enroll as opposed to making the deposit as an insurance policy.

I agree and think it's a great idea.  Too many people send in the deposit while holding out hope for waitlist admits, etc.

If you got a scholarship, that should push you to decide, but the extra cash may make it a certaintly!

I had an *earlier* deadline with W&M because of my scholarship, so I called them to beg to hold my scholarship a bit longer because I'm not yet decided. They sounded very displeased with me on the phone but held it an extra two weeks.
