No kidding. My dad is also unemployed - his company was sold about a month ago and his job was moved to Ohio, so we are starting to wonder if unemployment is contagious.

I may try to wait tables...I have no experience at all, but like you said, I may be able to bs my way in, we'll see.

I used to live in Sacto.  In fact I used to wait tables / bartend at the Howe Avenue TGI Friday's across from the Village Apartments.

You should try to get a wait job down in Old City where all the tourists go.  Fast cash and easy - might even consider cocktail waitressing.

A temp job can end any moment. It could end in a week, after you've barely gotten acclamated or in six months after you've gotten settled and assume its your for eternity.
