BU Ding
« on: April 13, 2005, 11:51:05 AM »
Got my ding from BU today...was one of my favored schools, but I wasnt too surprised by the ding.

I also figured out why it took so long for them to notify me...they had used the wrong address on the labels they made. My contact info and my address on the letter were correct, but their lables had a typo in the number and that boxholder was pretty slow at returning the mail (though im glad s/he did at all)

yeah me too.

Their rejection letter was not very nice... like, "We can imagine how disappointed you are, but don't worry, we thoroughly reviewed your application and we still thought you were pretty bad."

Gee, thanks guys.

yeah i was also dinged by BU.  i was just checking out their admitted students on LSN and it seems that many accepted by them will not be attending (because they are in at better schools or have chosen other peer schools instead-ND, BC, fordham, etc.).  i wonder if they will be going to their waitlist this year?  something tells me yes.

i think they may be trying to game the rankings (especially in light of their recent rises in USNEWS)

or, i will leave the possibility that i am a little annoyed i got a thin envelope (although BC did a good job of converting me before i realized that i wouldn't be choosing between the two)

BC is probably a better place than BU, regardless of what US News says.

BC is very GPA sensitive while BU is more LSAT sensitive.  I had the opposite results at these two places.

leaning towards boston college

however there's a little of me that wants to go to uc davis

obvious benefits: in state, want to work in california, closer to home, public, non-catholic

why boston: real city, farther away, east coast, slightly better national reputation

advice?
