I found out I got in off the waitlist last night. Big envelope. 3.61/172.Now I'm very confused. I had promised myself I would go to UVa regardless. But NYU is tempting... I'd get to stay a little closer to my life as I know it. It's just so damn expensive.
Boston24:First off, congrats!!!Did you send any extra information to NYU? I plan on attending UVA, but I'm also on the NYU and Columbia waitlist. Like you, I told myself I would go to UVA no matter what (lower COA and nice scholarship) but NYU ---oohh lala.Did they say anything about $? I remember the waitlist letter stating that the waitlisters would be considered for need based $. Which, to me, implied that none of us would receive any merit or grant $ if we got in.Again, congrats. I know this is a tough decision. But, remember that you will most likely have the same employment prospects coming out of UVA and NYU but with significantly less debt. But you will have the opportunity to work during the school year because of NYU's location. My friend from CLS, who's been working at Cravath for over 4 yrs and who took out the entire amount for Columbia in loans, told me that he's barely made a dent in his loans (between supporting his daughter and buying a NY apartment). He told me to follow the $.Keep us apprised of your decision.Quote from: Boston24 on May 26, 2005, 09:04:23 AMI found out I got in off the waitlist last night.
