Preptest #39
« on: May 26, 2004, 04:25:08 PM »
Again I added an experimental section (which i advise everyone to do) as it makes the test much more boring...

I thought this test was ok...I thought the games were a little difficult.

1. LG: 16/23  (slightly above average for me)
2. LR: 21/24
3. RC 25/28 (only section I have ever seen with 28!!)
4. LR 23/26

Total Raw: 85
LSAT score 168

I seem to be stuck in the high 160s...while this isn't a horrible place to be stuck, I really need to bust through 170 on practice tests to feel comfortable on the real thing.
Hopefully I will be able to improve my games by a few points in the coming 2.5 weeks.

nice M2,  you seem to be pretty consistent with your scoring.  i would rather get 7 wrong every time on games then 3 wrong some days and 12 wrong others.

i still think i should be able to hit 167 for the real deal. i just need to be SLOW and CAREFUL with those god awful games.  the times i screw them up are usually because i rush a setup (or 2)

i am finishing this test up tonite (taking it in halves)  weekends are for full length.

I started out with a goal of 165...but to have a bit more of a competitive advantage 167 or 168 would be nice.

I am going to start seriously reviewing each game that I had a problem with, and will try to determine exactly what types these games are... Maybe I am constantly missing the same type of grouping game?...who knows.

score 172 raw 91

1AR 20/23

2LR 23/24

3RC 25/28

4LR 23/26

i actually misbubbled 1 in the last section or would have had 173, i really had a hard time with the third game and nearly blew it but was able to make the big inference with my diag, otherwise, knock off some points...#40 is saturdsay

nice score.
I'm sure getting a 167 wont be a problem for you.

Strange how your game scores vary by so much though.

yeah strange indeed. it generally hinges on me making a major mistake of some kind.  i have gotten only 2 recent tests though under 167 (164, 165).  i have also gotten a 172 while missing 10 on the games.

i am generally good at figuring out big things but i have a hard time with details.  i just need to be slow and deliberate with my games setup and should be fine.

i also noticed on this test that i got a couple LR questions right that i would have missed in the past because one of the first answer choices sounded right and i almost picked it, but instead read all the others.  in the past (and with the desire to maintain speed) i would sometimes just grab the answer and move on without reading all of the choices.

i missed on 2 (21)
3 (4, 5, 12)
4 (11, 12 (misbubbled), and 18)

what about u?

I also had started to screw up some of the LR problems by going with the answer that sounded right without reading all of em... Since I stopped doing that I have been pretty stable.

I still wonder why I keep missing about 3 in each LR section no matter what...
It seems there are some questions that are just vague enough that I get really stuck between two answers.
