How long will you wait?
« on: April 05, 2005, 12:36:06 AM »
I have pretty much decided where I am going for LS now, seeing how the deposits are due in a couple weeks, and I realized that I am going to have to set into motion a bunch of plans over the early summer months in preparation. Being on 4 waitlists, all at schools that I would definitely like to attend, I am trying to start thinking of some sort of waitlist deadline at which point I won't change my plans.

Any thoughts?

i'm only on 1 waitlist right now.  right now i'm thinking i won't wait past the middle of july.  on the other hand, if i get into one of my top 2 choices, i will wait until about a week before classes start

I've already made my decision and sent in my deposit, however the off chance of going to Cornell is very appealing. I would willingly lose my deposit if I get in before I put my downpayment on a home. So that's basically saying that I'll wait until May 1--which really isn't enough time to change anything.

As of now I am headed to Loyola, but I will not start looking for a condo in Chicago until probably July 1.  This should put me at the end of July/beginning of August before I have to pull the plug on any WL chances.

Yeah, I think it boils down to housing for me as well.  I have friends that I will be getting an apartment with (at least with my current plan) and they will be looking to be in an apartment by July, which puts a lot of pressure on.
