What kinda DJ? Hip-hop? Techno? Other? Just curious, I might need some beats if I ever get serious about rapping again. My moniker, Intuition, is the name I created for my alter ego when I recorded a few rap songs during undergrad.

Pumpkin, if you think that's funny, I have tons of stories about working in a comedy club. One involves me, Lewis Black and copius nudity. Another involves strippers and the Amish. Who says DC is a stuck-up town?

I used to be a hip-hop dj on the radio and played anything from top 40 to house music when I deejayed parties. I eventually gave it up as I grew older. I felt that hip-hop started growing extremely wack when I left high school. I also realized that it was extremly wack to say things like "extremely wack" when you're a 25 year old white male. I guess that hip-hop kind of left me at the same time that I left it. But I still reserve the right to say "word" or "word to your mother" at any opportunity. I've evolved into a critic instead of an artist.

I still listen to old stuff, mostly dated 1980-1998. I've kept my collection from then, so I would be happy to help you with beats. I also know lots of people in Chicago who are in the scene, so they might be able to help you. If you like hip-hop from 80-98, you should definitely check out oldschoolive.com.

anyone planning on biking to school?  is this even possible?  i dont even know how many books 1Ls have to carry with them at all times. I am guessing the August - October weather also makes this somewhat difficult - i really dont want to be sweating in class.  not to mention the safety in biking through the busy traffic.

My waiter one of the nights I was visiting told me that I should get a place at South Beach and buy a scooter.  He said it is really easy to drive to UM on a scooter.  Sounds like suicide to me considering how many bad traffic accidents I have heard about in Miami.

by the way, the lockers i saw at the law school looked as if they had been bought at a garage sale from the oldest high school in south florida.  i am not sure how many of my personal belongings i will be willing to house in mine.

I live to incriminate myself. That's why I'm going to Miami. Scantily clad women in a sub-tropical environment surrounded by an influx of Cubans sounds like a prime opportunity for incrimination. Last time I was there I had a run-in involving a transsexual stripper and the Catholic chuch.

Do the high rise apartments in Miami experience any problems? I dont really mind being stuck in my apartment for a few days, but I would really hate to pack and evacuate - it seems like a big pain.  I have lived in MD all my life (btw - I went to UofMD, College Park) and really had to only deal with snow storms - which arent that bad as long as you stay indoors.

Side note: I visited the Law School in 2003.  One of the admissions staff told me that they were expecting around 410 incoming students and that this number was a little high, but they were prepared.  I think they said they were shooting for around 370.  I imagine with them not going to the waitlist this year, that they are expecting around 400 or higher.  I was also told that they were a few part-timers in the mix, but Miami is trying to phase out their part-time program.
