If top-school prestige was limited to BIGLAW, I would certainly agree with you. 

It's not.  Especially in this economy.  You will not be a candidate for many jobs in nonprofit law, government law (fancy a USAO internship?) and all sorts else (fancy a big-name advocacy group like ACLU?).  You are making an irreversible (unless you are top 10%) decision that you should really, really think about.

I'm a third-tier law student, so I might know something about this.    I'm not saying this is the way it should be, and I'm not suggesting that the education you'll get here should be talked about as a "toilet."  But please realize that it's a ridiculously hierarchical system extending not just into big corporate law, but all avenues.

wow, you are an idiot.  That is like getting accepted to harvard and saying "I got into a top 100 school." Its just plain stupid.  There are classifications for law school rankings that are well established.  Im well aware that on the chart, UVA is within the top 25 schools.  However, it is not a t25 school, its a t14 school.  the element of prestige is completely different at both.

Im not beating that issue, I just think its a very strong indication that you are lying.  Oh, and top 10 at your toilet is appropriate.  On a resume I would put top 8, or just 8 though.  I would also leave the toilet part out.

I am not beating that issue because I have nothing to talk about, I am just trying to avoid saying anything offensive about TTT or TTTT schools despite the fact that they are a scam and have very little chances of paying off for those attending.  However, I realize some people have no options and that idiots can be bought with free tuition when they fail to comprehend the value of a degree.

the only tier 3 i know that doesnt have grads suffering is howard, and from what I can tell, the retention rate at law firms for howard grads is pretty pathetic.  Lots of SAs and young associates but few partners.  There are a couple of possible explanations for this gap, but this isnt the appropriate thread for that.

that said, I still think you are a flame.

I know students at the median or above-median at schools ranked in the 30s, 70s, and 90s who are all hurting for jobs...

So I'd be surprised if there's no problem getting jobs from the T3.

what a "curve" means is that you have precisely a 90 percent chance at being at the bottom of ur class since only the top 10 really matter.  do the odds, they aren't in your favor my friend. just like casino's the house always wins.

Maybe at the third tier toilet you go to only the top 10% matters, but some of us actually go to respected law schools.

And i have friends that graduated from T-4 and T-3 schools who are doing quite well.  I really think it is a case by case basis.  Anyways, I'm probably staying where im at, if i do try to transfer, the schools im looking at are ranked 80-100 so not sure if its worth it.  And who knows, I might not even be top 25 after this semester as hard as fukc as it is...oh how i hate the RAP!!
