Include class rank and % in resume?

Should I include both? and if yes, Is top 27% tacky? or just stick to top 25%, top 30%, top 50%?

Wouldn't it be better to put the real rank?  ... unless that is.  Like mine is 35/117 (top 29%) as opposed to adjusting it to "out of 100"

Obviously Yes!  Use your real rank, I just put 27/100 b/c I didn't know the OPs rank.

There is no wrong way, but I prefer to emphasize the ranking instead of the percentage.  I like to say:

Class Rank: 34/133 (Top 27%)

but it doesn't really matter

Be aware of your school's requirement re: grade and rank reporting too.  For instance, my school gives individual rankings only for the top 10% of the class, and then tells people if they're in the top 20%, 25%, 33% (I think), 50%, 75%, etc.  You aren't allowed to "compute" your own percentile, and if you do, it's a violation of the honor code (they don't want people making math mistakes or fudging numbers).

So I'd just double check that it's ok to even do your own math before you put it on your resume.

Also, because you're not in the top 25%, I'd just put 34/133, which seems much more impressive than 26%.  That's entirely just my opinion though.

I second this -- check with your school. Mine only gives rankings to the top 5% and posts the GPA cutoffs for 1% 5% 10% 15% 20% 25% and 33 1/3%

You're only allowed to list one of those percentages, although it's up to you if you want to list any.  You could do something like  3.42 (top 25% = 3.48) if you just missed it if top 33 1/3 is the next published cutoff and it's way way below you. Again, check with your school before doing anything.

I can't believe this is so complicated.

I'm just going to put my rank and to hell with the rest of it.

I've sent out some resumes already but w/e...I'm not going to continue to fall into this trap of freaking out about every little thing.
