T4 to GULC EA?
« on: January 14, 2008, 08:58:43 PM »
T4
GPA: 3.66 on a forced curve of 2.67-3.00
In 2006 the cutoff for the top 10% was 3.49. The curve was increased
this year so I think the cutoff will be higher this year.
LSAT: High 150s
One Book Award

Does GULC EA seem achievable?
I know some people transferred to GULC EA from my school last year but
they all had a GPA of at least 3.75.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think you have a pretty good chance at transferring to GULC.  There is a yahoo transfer site that gives me the idea that if you do pretty well (meaning top 5-10%)you have a pretty good shot.  What section are you in at UB?  I go to UB as well and I considered transferring to GULC for the job prospects.

Also, scroll to the bottom of this link and this will help you gauge where you might rank.

I know it's based on the old curve, but it still should help.  Plus, from the few people I have heard discussing grades, many of the profs stayed closed to the 2.67 end of the curve rather than the 3.00.

Still considering it, just not sure about EA.  Plus, I'm kind of torn because I like UB.

Id say you probably dont have that strong of a shot with those grades, but that doesnt mean it isnt worth the try.  I feel like G-town gets crazy EA apps and might require a little stronger of numbers, but its just a little bit of money to apply, so its probably worth it.

I would say that you are very close and it is definitely worth the app fee.  Although I do not know this for a fact, it seems like you need to be in the top 5% if you are coming from a T4 to get into GULC EA.  I actually did the T4 to GULC this past year and know some fellow transfers who got deffered and then after spring grades so keep studying and best of luck it is definitely worth it!
