To those who appiled for positions at law firms...How long did it take before you received a response from the firms...in otherwards what was the duration between submitting your resume and landing an interview with the firm?

I've gotten responses an hour or 6 week after sending the e-mails. No rhyme or reason. And I've only heard back at all from about half.

Well I appiled three weeks ago. I am wondering whether it is too late to get an offer. Do people continue receiving offers untill February ?

Yes, some are quick, some are not.
My school has a 1L OCI period sometime in February, and I suppose many other schools do too, so that should mean that by that time some employers will not have filled all their spots yet.

Some schools don't even get grades back until February. Some jobs are already long gone, and some offers don't even go out until the end of February. As everybody else is suggesting, it depends on the market and the individual firms you applied to.

If your grades remain at relatively the same level(should find out in next day or two), a job from OCI may be possible. Otherwise, many jobs are already gone from offers given to students after screening interviews. Events after this point are merely formalities and attempts to drum up interest in the firm for 2L OCI. Best of luck to you, and hope you won't end up like me scrambling to look for other non biglaw opportunities.

Is it too late for Spring OCI at your school? If so, send out resumes to smaller/medium size firms (larger ones have hired already). A top 10 school on your resume will definitely open up some doors for you

Larger firms are not *all* done hiring, but many have already done interviews or are in the process. Shoot for firms with between 20 and 100 attorneys in secondary markets. Many of them are just now starting the hiring process.

So far, not too much luck. My final GPA is a 4.04. I sent 30 resumes and about 5 or 6 e-mails to LA firms and so far 17 or 18 "we are full" letters have come back. So far I have zero interviews too. If anyone has any advice let me know. I think I might just try for a judge or the DA if this doesn't work out though. Thx.
