UF has very favorable visiting student policies, and Dean Jerry is a very helpful guy if you just email him and ask him.
I'd personally recommend UM over Nova if you're visiting. Not that either one is all that great, but UM has a marginally better alumni network.
I'd honestly consider divesting yourself of the need to be in south florida. I lived there for 20 years. it sucks. You'll grow to hate it just like everyone who lives down there does. If you're going to be in Florida consider central or northern florida: you'll get better schools (FSU, UF), and you're closer to Atlanta for job opportunities there too.
