Your Worst Interview

What is the worst answer to a question you have given in an interview so far?

Mine:

Q:  What do you like to do in your spare time?
A:  I love watching movies.
Q:  What kind of movies do you like?
A:  Independant films.... and teeny-bopper movies

Needless to say, I didn't get an offer from them.

S (meaning statement): maybe you shouldn't work in a firm.

Q: Any questions?
A: Where in Jersey did you live?
Q: I lived in Bergen County.
A: Oh, you have a lot of troubled kids there that like to kill themselves.  I read about that stuff.

No callback. 


I had a callback where the interview was predominately me talking about drugs.  No offer. 

thankfully, I kept my mouth shut for one interview and got an offer.

female private part. i love it. As a matter of fact if you hire me im going to spend twice as much time trying to get it as i am going to spend working. Since your firm requires 2000 billable hours I am going to spend 4000 hours harassing my female co workers.

I got asked what I thought of Florida football fans. I said they were obnoxious and that Spurrier was a prick.

Got an offer the next day.

Some V20 firm asked what distinguishes me from many other applicants for their summer position.  I dinged the firm at the end of the interview.

No. I got an email about what not to say in a law interview and that was the funniest thing on the list. Just thought id share it with the board.

Partner asked me a series of questions like "Tell me two situations in which you used your analytical abilities."

After wading through one or two I said something like, "Wow - out of all of the interviews that I've now done, you're the first person to actually ask all those questions that they always say you'll get asked during an interview."

No offer.

Six hour interview at a large firm in a high rise, I have just finished my freshman year in undergrad as an EE, and it was the second real interview I have ever had in my life, the first one I had ever had was for a freshman engineering job, at a small software company, that had been casual and only taken 20 minutes.

I was interested in law, but that had only really seriously begun thinking about it around that time, so really didn't know much about it. I was also so nervous I am sure my face was fairly white the whole time.

To say the least, it didn't go well  .

Now that I am finished with engineering and am in law school, I've interviewed for engineering positions at least twenty times and at four firms for a IP law firms, that interview was easily the most extreme interview experience I have been put through.
