i've heard 190 / 195.

i've also heard that only a small handful of nyc firms (skadden, cravath, weiss, etc.) are willing / able to do this - which means that the vast majority of will not be affected.

You mean Paul Weiss? If they can do it I am sure any V20 can do it.

I assume he means Paul Weiss. What do you mean by that though? Paul weiss has profits per partner over 2.5 million, putting them easily into the top ten for profits in the country. In fact, you are right that all the V20s in NY can match, but paul weiss is going to have an easier time than most.

last years raises brought them on to reflect it, so it should do the same this year.

of course i meant paul weiss

who else could i possibly be talking about given the context (cravath, skadden) ?!?!

anyway, the *rumor* that i heard (from head honcho nyc parnter type) was that only a small handful of nyc firms are going to do the 190 thing. time will tell ...

the firms people have been talking about don't have billable hours requirements.

Ohh. You can tell they were not options for me.  So if there is no requirement do they just expect everyone to work 2400 hours?

Well, maybe not 2400 depending on the firm. But yeah they just expect you to do the work.
