how long before call backs

The longest I have seen between a screening interview and an offer for a callback is 1 week.  I had one firm wait a week, the rest all got back to me within 1-3 days after the screening interview. Seems to be the same with my classmates.

I had two callbacks that came 2-3 weeks after the OCI...but all of my other ones came within 24-48 hours.  Of course, there are still a few firms that have given me NO response...not sure if I'm on hold or what, but they should have told me one way or the other by now.

I think part of it depends on the market, as well as firm size. I am in a midwestern city (not Chicago) and I think our firms are a bit slower than the NYC firms. All of my callbacks from OCI have come within 1 week, most about 3 business days after the interview. I haven't gotten any callbacks after 1 week, so if a week passes with nothing, I assume a ding and move on.
