NLG, but possibly because it has much older pedigree. the NLG is 70 years old. it helped integrate the legal profession while the ABA was segregated, flipped off mccarthy, and litigated historic cases like goldberg v. kelly. the ACS has only been around about 5 years.

also, the NLG is more militant, therefore more credible.

NLG has had three members go on to become SCOTUS justices: robert jackson, thurgood marshall, abe fortas.

ACS: none as far as i know.
