A company in NY rented A/Cs from vendor (in NY) and used a shipping/messenger service (in NY) to deliver the goods with trucks from vendor to the company. When the A/Cs arrived, they were damaged en route which costs $1500. This money needs to be paid to the vendor. What liability does shipping company have? Where can I research for New York laws that govern? I have searched everywhere. WHere can I find State laws or cases or regulation that talks about limitation of liability in NY?

If you're referring to A/Cs as air conditioners, then this would be a classic UCC Art. 2 case.  That's where I'd start.
