how much do 1L books cost?

About $300, including getting E&E's for each of my classes. That is only for the first term though. Amazon/half/ebay treated me well.

I probably spent $700 on books, I spent $75 on course packs, and about $90 on examples and explanations for my classes.

Spent $770 on required course books ($270 over the school's suggested budget), though some will be used again next semester.  Don't buy supplements unless you don't have access to the library whenever you want.  Your library will probably have tons on reserve.
