Obtaining estimated class rank
« on: June 20, 2007, 11:19:52 AM »
My law school, like many others, doesn't release class rankings until pretty much all the transfer deadlines have passed.  I emailed the schools to which I am applying, and they said that it would suffice if I could obtain an estimated class rank.  My law school's registrar said that it would not be possible to estimate based on this year's grades, however, does anyone know if it would be appropriate to ask her to provide an estimate based on last year's 1L grades??  Has anyone else had experience w/ obtaining an estimated class rank?

Thanks!

You can get an estimated rank based on last year's grades. Most schools are probably going to take that estimated rank at face value. It is perfectly appropriate to ask for this.
