Bigger threat: Radical Islam or Global Warming?

  Rank them in the short/medium term as well as long-term.  My guess is:

  In terms of direct costs, radical Islam in the short-term is the hands-down winner, as well as in terms of secondary costs (political ramifications, etc.).  As far as long-term, it's a tougher call, since we don't know the probability of a terrorist group obtaining a nuclear weapon, but I would guess it's sufficiently small enough that global warming is the larger threat.

This is pintless, you can't make any meaningfull comparison.  It's like comparing Apples to telephones asking which one is more useful.

Apples and oranges maybe.  At least they're both fruit, and have health benefits.

beginning of islam to ca. 1000: global temperatures rise; muslims on a conquest binge.

1000 - 1850: global temperature cools; muslim golden age of philosophy, math, science, arts, etc. little warfare.

1850 - present: global temperatures rise again; muslims become violent again.
